At Red Oak High we offer a variety of subjects and subject combinations depending on our students’ interests and career aspirations.

We have divided the IGCSE curriculum over three years to better support our students: Grade 8 (IG1), Grade 9 (IG2), and Grade 10 (IG3).

Students at our school sit for final exams in three compulsory subjects at the end of Grade 9 (IG2), with the remaining exams, based on their chosen electives, taking place at the end of Grade 10 (IG3).

Compulsory Subjects:

The Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics syllabus aims to enhance learners’ mathematical skills as a key life skill and foundation for further study. It focuses on building confidence and fluency in techniques, understanding quantities and patterns, and solving problems in real-life contexts. The course emphasizes presenting and interpreting results, with tiered levels to support students of varying abilities in their mathematical progress.

The Cambridge IGCSE syllabus enables learners to develop an understanding of the importance of the major beliefs of Islam, and of the early history of the Islamic community. As a result, learners develop their knowledge and understanding of the main elements of Islamic faith and history, evaluating the meaning and importance of these elements in the lives and thoughts of Muslims. Although the syllabus is studied in English, some familiarity with passages from the Qur’an and Hadith in Arabic is assumed.
